Valvuloplasty
A thin, flexible tube (catheter) is inserted through a vein in the groin. When it reaches the narrowed heart valve, a balloon at the end of the catheter is inflated. The balloon presses against the hardened tissue which helps the valve open and close more effectively. We perform valvuloplasty to repair mitral and aortic valves.
